The Bethesda McDonalds is on its way out

The land under the McDonalds at 4500 East-West Highway in Bethesda, MD is going to be replaced with 223,300 square feet of new office and retail development. There will be ground floor retail, a public plaza, and a bike path to the Georgetown Branch Trail. DCmud has a detailed post with lots more info and sketches.

  1. Wow, another place from my youth soon to be gone. I remember going there with my Aunt as a kid. Good times as a little kid.

From 2001-2007 I worked across the street in the Air Rights Building. The times they are a changin'

  2. Bethesda it is a-changing. I've been surprised that the amount of construction hasn't been going down more given the overall economy. All the old buildings are slowly being replaced.
