Odwalla Bar: Superfood

The first thing I noticed about this energy bar is that it is green.
It is a soft and chewy food made with organic rolled oats, date puree, rasins,
and grape juice conentrate. That is what gives it the fruity sweet flavor.
If you've never had an odwalla bar, it is similar to a Cliff bar but
chewier, and I think, much better tasting than a power bar.
Its claim to being a super food comes from it having Spirulina, a type
of cyanobacteria with high amounts of protien and lots of essential amino
acids, fatty acids, vitamins and minerals.

Overall this is good, and if you think spirulina is a good dietary supplement,
then this is a good way to get it. I like some of the other odwalla food
bars better. (230 calories; 4g fat; 43g carbs; 4g protein; 5% sodium; per

Trader Joes: Kosher Sandwich Pickles

These are pickles sliced lengthwise into thin slices, perfect for putting on you sandwiches, but I like just eating them straight. The are very crisp and bright. The pickle flavor really stands out. I think they are better than most of the sandwich slice pickles. They taste very salty, but looking at the ingredients, I can see they don't have any more salt than most pickles (yup thats alot I know). (5 calories; 0g fat; 1g carbs; 12% sodium; per two slices)

Hard times Cafe

Hard Times Cafe is a chili parlor. What does that mean? Well, most of their menu is chili, and variations on chili. If chili is what you do, then you better do it well, and Hard Times does it well. They have four kinds of chili, Vegetarian (soy based), Texas (no tomato), Cincinnati (red, a little too sweet for my taste) and Terlingua (another red chili, also tasty) My favorite dish there is the Chili Mac (chili served over spagetti) with cheese on top, they call this the three-way. Even better is getting it with half Texas Chili and half Vegetarian Chili. Sooo, good.
